Is Invisalign really invisible?

While it’s not entirely invisible, Invisalign does come in a color that’s almost transparent, making it almost impossible for anyone to know you’re even wearing aligners. For folks who prefer a more discreet treatment option, Invisalign is the way to go.

When it comes to any orthodontic treatment, the first step is to get an evaluation from Dr. M. Invisalign treatment time can take different amounts of time for different individuals and different cases. Generally speaking, we see Invisalign cases finish in 12 to 18 months.

Do I have To Change My Invisalign Trays?

What's The Different Between Invisalign and Braces?

In theory, Invisalign is very similar to traditional braces in that they slowly move your teeth into the desired position. Where Invisalign is different is that you can remove the trays. If you're curious about what that looks like, check out our blog post that covers the Top Benefits of Invisalign.

Are Invisalign Trays Easy To Wear?

Invisalign is made of soft, flexible materials that are very easy to wear, you’ll barely even notice that you’re wearing them. As we’ve mentioned, these aligners are so easy to wear and they’re so discreet, you’ll be able to eat, drink, talk, and brush your teeth like you normally do. Not only will the people around you likely not notice, but you’ll probably forget that they’re in most of the time!

When Do I have To Wear My Invisalign Trays?

Now, we are an orthodontic office, so the answer is always going to be "As much as possible!" The reason for that is we want you to get your new, beautiful, "Wow Smile" as fast as possible. But to be specific, you are going to need to wear your aligners for about 20 to 23 hours a day. The less time you have Invisalign trays in, the longer your treatment is going to take.

What Happens After Invisalign Treatment?

After your orthodontic treatment is finished, generally our office talks about custom-made retainers that help keep your investment looking amazing.

How Do I clean My Invisalign Aligners?

We recommend cleaning your trays twice a day, at least. Because Invisalign sits right against your teeth, you're going to want to have that clean. Clean Invisalign trays also ensure the trays stay clear and invisible!

The following steps are some basic cleaning instructions for Invisalign trays.

  • Rinse your aligners with water every time you take them off.
  • Brush your Invisalign Aligners with a soft toothbrush to remove any food or debris.
  • Consider using a product like "Steraligner" to soak your trays for a few minutes every day.
